Most teachers have heard of group work but find that putting it in practice in the classroom is a tricky problem. The good students also resist it because they do not want the weak students getting credit for their work, naturally. To address these and other practical issues, this workshop is a day-long hands-on session to explore the necessity and method of using it effectively in the local classroom.
Cooperative learning gives students the opportunity to teach each other. The traditional teacher to student relationship shifts to student to student. The teacher’s role is that of a facilitator. He or she organizes the learning activities, assists students in learning necessary skills for effective cooperative learning and evaluates progress.
