This workshop is designed for the language teachers of primary and secondary levels.
Workshop purpose
A portfolio is “a container that holds evidence of an individual’s skills, ideas, interests and accomplishments.” —Diane Hart
Portfolios are a new concept to most teachers, students and parents. There is a learning curve involved in adapting to the process. Portfolios both reflect and create the culture within which a variety of writers, readers and audiences communicate. As students produce the contents of a portfolio, the portfolio becomes an ever richer context for each of its elements.
Outcomes of workshop
By the end of session participants will be able to: ▪ Learn the techniques to create interest in students for writing. ▪ Conduct portfolio sessions. ▪ Implement a portfolio program in your class. ▪ Empower students to choose the topics of their writing. ▪ Will be able to assess students’ writings.
